INTERIOR:
4200+ square feet interior
5500 square feet under roof
The exterior is traditional, but the interior has a striking, open floorplan. The ceilings are tall - 9 feet on the first floor and 8.5 feet on the second. The kitchen, dining room, family room and sunroom are all a single open space of over 1000 square feet - yet it's a very warm house. The wide-plank walnut floors are simply beautiful, and show a brilliant mix of black, red and brown walnut. The wide, traditional colonial trim provides detail and interest throughout.
The first floor includes an office/den with private bath, sleeper sofa and Eastern Shore accents, along with two french doors; one leading down the stairs to the pool - this room has ten feet of walls open to the grounds. The full bath has slate floors and easy access to the pool. The living room is elegant but comfortable, providing a quiet space separated by glass french doors (with transoms) from the rest of the house. Another french door leads out to the front porch.
The great room is 46 feet long from side to side (1000 square feet), and provides a water view from sixteen windows. It combines the kitchen, dining area (seating for 12), large Family Room and Sun Room areas. The custom millwork including archways, bead-board walls and massive casement trim displays craftsman-quality walls and accents throughout the entire first floor.
The Kitchen has granite counters, custom Maple cabinets, state-of-the-art stainless steel appliances, a gas range and double sink. There are pass-throughs to the screen porch and pool, and a granite Island for both food prep and eating space. There is a large walk-in pantry available to guests.
The second floor has four bedrooms, three of which serve as bdrm/bathroom suites; one with a Jack & Jill bath serving the fourth. The washer/dryer is on this floor. All bedrooms have water views, wide colonial trim and berber-style carpets. Walnut floors line the hallways. All baths have custom ceramic tile thoughout, and either oil-rubbed bronze or rich, brushed-nickel fixtures. The master bath has a Jacuzzi tub and floor-to-celing oversized shower with an integral, Spa-Quality steam room. Closet space is ample in every bedroom.
The third floor has 1000 square feet of space, including a large recreation area, a full bath with soaking tub and a bedroom large enough to comfortably sleep five in single beds, and another with two double beds! Four seven-foot wide dormers and three oversized windows light up the entire level.
Views from this level include both the Sunset over the Chesapeake Bay (!) and the Sunrise across Fishing Creek.
This is a very special property....
Unlike most rentals, this new home was built to the owner's specification and is only rented for a portion of the year. This property is not subject to the same wear, and has much finer touches than the "typical rental home" - a benefit echoed by every visitor to the property. If you are looking for a shore house to rent that meets a higher standard... this is a great choice

The neighborhood is considered the finest in the county; a two-mile-long peninsula of new luxury homes with water on all sides. A gravel drive takes you through the pine trees and grasses to a traditional "Farm House" styled-home on the water, with lap siding, cedar touches and 1200 square feet of columned wraparound porches. Three wide, stone staircases transition the porch to the grand entrance, the pool and to the river. An expansive lawn is both in the front and rear of the house for entertaining; along with the large pool and deck area on the side.
The house has water on two sides; the mile-wide river is only 100 feet from the rear steps, and the "tidal pond" is just off to one side. Every single room has a water view. The pool and deck are located opposite the pond - the flagstone coping and slate-grey surfaces match the house and porches. The house sits on almost six (6) acres so you can take long walks through the pines or on the beach without leaving the property.
The flagstone-trimmed porches are huge, and provides a wonderful space for any weather. It has extensive seating including hardwood chairs and tables along with oak rockers and benches. There is a 21 x 14 screened porch in the rear that can seat 14 comfortably at the tables. The kitchen has pass-throughs for both the pool area and the screen porch. No less than six doors transition the porch into the house, including three French doors. The slanted ceilings are 12 feet high and expose the framing in a casual manner reminiscent of old Key West.
